English medium instruction (EMI)

English medium instruction (EMI) refers to teaching content courses in English at universities where English is not the primary national language. A few universities have used other terms like EMC (English-mediated courses). This is becoming increasingly common throughout the world, including East Asian countries, where it is not without its detractors. Relevant research on EMI and problems of EMI will appear here later, as well as resources for non-native English speakers having to teach in English.
